Hi, I’m Hannah

My passion for dogs and grooming started when we got our Cockapoo, Milo. His playful spirit and unique personality inspired me to pursue this rewarding journey where I can help other dogs look and feel their best. With every groom, I strive to create a positive experience for both pets and their owners.

THE GROOM ROOM @ BERRYFIELDS POLICY

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT WITH US - WHEN BOOKING WITH US WE WILL ASSUME THAT YOU HAVE AGREED AND READ THE FOLLOWING TERMS.

CANCELLATION POLICY - DO YOU CHARGE A CANCELLATION FEE?

At The Groom Room @ Berryfields we understand that life sometimes gets in the way and that appointments can get forgotten, which is why we send you a text reminder of your appointment 48 hrs before you are due.

Appointments can be re-arranged or cancelled up to 48 hrs before your scheduled appointment however you will lose your deposit.

If you contact us with less than 24 hrs notice and we cannot fill the appointment we will have to charge you the full cost of the appointment. If you simply do not show up then I’m afraid we will also have to charge you the full cost of the appointment. As a small business, we unfortunately cannot afford to lose out on income for these appointments so please let us know in plenty of time if you can't make it.

LATE ARRIVAL POLICY - WHAT HAPPENS IF I'M LATE ARRIVING OR COLLECTING MY DOG?

If you are late for your appointment I'm sure you will appreciate that we may not be able to complete what has been booked in. We will always try our best to complete what has been booked however you may need to book a short follow-up appointment to complete the groom and there will be an additional charge for this.

Collecting your dog on time is important so that we can keep to schedule, an estimated time of collection will be given to you when you drop off your dog and a text will be sent to you 20 minutes before the dog is ready to be collected. We allow a 10 minute grace period after your dog's schedule pick-up time. However if this exceeds 10 minutes you will be charged £10 and then after 20 minutes it will be an additional £5 per 10 minutes.

We do have space to be able to hold your dog until you are available to collect, if this is something you would like to add to your appointment please let me know.

FLEA, & WORM TREATMENTS AND VACCINATIONS

  • Dogs must be fully up to date with flea and worm treatments

  • Dogs must be up to date with all vaccinations.

We aim to have a flea and tick free salon. We kindly ask that all dogs are up to date with their flea and tick treatments. If fleas or ticks are discovered during the groom, the dog will be bathed with a flea shampoo and the salon will have to be thoroughly cleaned and treated before being able to carry on with the scheduled dogs for the day. This will incur a £15 charge to the grooming price. We do not remove ticks, at the point of discovering a tick - you will be called to collect your dog and a full appointment fee will have to be charged.

ELDERLY AND/OR SICK DOGS

Dogs must be healthy. Grooming sick and elderly dogs are at the owner’s risk. Grooming can expose underlying health and skin issues which The Groom Room @ Berryfields cannot be held liable. We will ask you as part of our booking process whether there are any health conditions that we need to be aware of.

AGGRESSIVE OR EXTREMELY ANXIOUS DOGS

Owners MUST make groomers aware if their dog bites, has bitten or aggressive towards people and/or other dogs. Please also inform us if your dog is anxious, as we may need to schedule more time for the appointment as the groom will take longer. We can also discuss whether your dog needs some short introductory sessions ahead of a full grooming appointment, to get them more comfortable with the grooming process and me.

Additional charges of £10 may occur as grooms will take longer with dogs who present with behavioural problems,  If your dog should bite, the owner agrees to be responsible for any and all related medical bills, recovery costs, loss of income and equipment damage.

Some dogs may be required to wear a muzzle if displaying aggressive behaviour or has intended to bite the groomer.

MATTED DOGS

We know that no owner deliberately lets their dog become matted, but it does happen when dogs are not brushed regularly. Please let us know ahead of the appointment if you feel your dog is matted, we will require pictures ahead of each appointment booked in with us anyway.

Under the Animal Welfare Act 2006, it is an offence to cause unnecessary suffering or harm to an animal. This includes prolonged ‘de-matting’ which is painful and detrimental to the welfare of the dog.

Matting is different to just removing small knots, tangles and isolated matted hair from the coat which can be achieved quickly without causing anxiety, stress or pain.

When a dog’s coat is matted it may need to have a very short clip, this can cause irritation as the blades have to run below the matt very close to the skin which takes longer than a regular clip and means the clipper blades can get very hot so the groomer has to take regular breaks in order to let the blades cool to avoid burning your dog’s skin. It is also possible that we may uncover nicks, cuts or other potential problems which have been hidden by the matted hair.  As the owner, we ask that you agree that The Groom Room @ Berryfields cannot be held liable for any after-grooming effects of matt clipping procedures or problems uncovered on a badly matted, neglected coat, which could include, but are not limited to, the following: itchiness, skin redness or self-inflicted irritations/abrasions from excessive rubbing. Please be aware that there is a much higher risk that the dog’s skin could be nicked with the clippers as we have to get the blade underneath the matt in order to remove it and although we will make every effort to avoid it, it does occasionally happen that we nick the skin. The Groom Room @ Berryfields cannot be held liable for any injuries or nicks that occur as a result of a clip off due to matting.

If a dog has excessively matted ears, bleeding at the tips of the ear can occur when the matting is removed, this is because the delicate blood vessels have been restricted by the tight matted hair and releasing this pressure means blood rushes to the tips of the ears and can cause the ears to split at the tip. Obviously, we will do everything we can to avoid this happening but it is sometimes unavoidable, so please be aware that there is a possibility it could happen. If it does happen we would recommend taking your dog to the vet for a check-up, explaining that the ears have been trimmed due to excessive matting.

The Groom Room @ Berryfields will always act in the best interests of your dog and we reserve the right to interrupt or abandon the groom of any dog for the safety of the groomer and the dog, as we believe that no dog should be subjected to undue stress or discomfort during a groom.

If your dog is matted and we were not aware before the appointment, we will contact you ahead of continuing with the appointment. If you decide that you do not want us to proceed you will be charged your full appointment cost. If you agree to us removing the coat, matting charge of £20 will be applied if we find that your dog is matted.

PHOTOS & VIDEOS

At the Groom Room @ Berryfields we take videos and/or pictures of each dog before, during and after the groom, which we keep on file to assist us in future grooms. We may use some photos/videos in advertising our service and/or post to our social media sites. Most clients enjoy seeing their pet featured. Please let us know beforehand if you do not wish your pet's photos to be made public. Please also let us know if you would not like their name included with the photo.
